This week is becoming really interesting, because my partner and I have to find a way to gain followers on our twitter. We have to also be unique and come up with some ideas that will help us to stand out and to gain support from others.
The good thing is that we have already met one of our goals and have almost met the second goal which is gaining 85 people on our Facebook and gaining 20 on our twitter. We are gradually meeting our goals, but the what really bothers me is that it is not as easy as I thought it would be. I really thought that we would gain more support from people than we have, because of our topic. I know that the youth are really struggling as a whole, and they need direction and good people in their life. So I don't understand why it is so hard to find people who want to support our campaign. The bad thing is that if we said our campaign is about changing the drinking age to 17. I bet we would get sooo many followers and people who want to disagree about that topic. If that is a way to get people's attention then our world is really in trouble.
And why is it that many people complain about the youth? Talking about how out of control a lot of them are, and how they need help. This is puzzling to me because here we are trying to reach out to the youth, and only a few are with us. There is something really wrong with that picture! there are many children and teens who need as much help as they can get, and when people offer to give them that help they can either take it or leave it. But in our case, we are struggling to find people who are as passionate about them as we are.
I can turn on my television right now and find many shows that have to do with the youth, for instance that show about being pregnant as a teen. I mean I am not saying that we guarantee that all of the youth that we touch will not rebel. But we want to decrease the rate of those who want to rebel, instead of taking their lives seriously, not to mention viewing their body as a temple.
All i'm saying is if people really care about the youth like they say they do then why isn't anyone speaking up when it is time too? Are we the only people who have something to say about this issue, because this is serious. I feel that people are just going through and letting the youth do what they please, and as a result they end up doing things that can end their life. How fair is that? Isn't the point of having children to help raise them into decent human beings? And by that I mean, guiding them, giving them advice that will help them, leading by example, listening to what they have to say and spending time with them. I know being a parent is not an easy job, but I have 3 brothers and 1 sister and they are very good kids. I think we all turned out well, because of our mother and our dad helped us in maturing. I think children need both parents actively involved in their lives, because that really makes a child feel loved.
I really hope that who ever has taken the time to read this understands where I am coming from, because this is very frustrating to me. I do not want to see an increase in the amount of youth living on the streets, selling their bodies, committing crimes and forgetting about God. Is this really what the world has to look forward to for our youth?
