Last Post

Well I'm sad to say that this is the end of the rope. This is my very last post about this campaign. So I am going to talk about my feelings thus far about F.I.O.Y, and how I wish more could have happened for this campaign.
I am really thrilled that I got the opportunity to see how a campaign runs and to see how much effort it takes to run it. It is funny, because going into this, I thought it was going to take way too much of my time and that the success would be far more greater than what it is now. I'm very saddened at the fact that we did not gain that many followers on Twitter @faithinouryouth but we did do very well on Facebook and it is still growing. I wish that our event could have be done and ready by now, but it is taking us a bit longer than we thought. I enjoyed the fact that we got to use twitter, facebook and other media to work with. That is what made this project exciting to me. It was like I could be on those things and it is allowed in class. It was really funny when I told my mom I was doing homework and she saw me on facebook, and twitter and checking my e-mail and she was like that is not homework. When I told her it was for a class project she did not believe me until much later lol.
I think that doing this project it has opened my eyes to what my true passion is and what it has always been which is taking about Christ. I realize that even though I have always loved children, teenagers also need love. This project helped me to see the bigger picture and I hope that I can go on and be that supportive person in their lives. Also, a mentor who can help them to stay encouraged about Christ.
I cannot believe how fast time has flown and I can say that I have learned a lot in the process not just about myself, but about the campaign. I wanted it to succeed very badly, but it is not easy. It is a hassle right now, because we need a lot of youth who are willing to come to our event. It would be nice if we could have gotten at least 10 kids, but we are still working on that. Hopefully, by Friday it will be a great turnout. I am really looking forward to it, and I can only hope that we get more youth than we expect. God willing, everything will work out according to his will and that is really all I can expect.
So, now I guess I can say Good-bye. I am truly walking away with a lot of knowledge about my future goals and I have learned what my true passion is. I will continue to work on the youth after this class is over and as a career.
God Bless :)
